I've been a creative my entire life, in one form or another, long before I picked up pastel. These days, painting is how I stay well. Pigment builds in layers, one pass at a time, and I do it because I need to, not just because I'm good at it.

I love the sound of pastel dragging across the grain of the paper, the friction of it, the way it catches and releases. It's as much a part of the work for me as anything that ends up on the sheet.

Titles of my paintings are pulled from lyrics that won't let go of me.
